 | | Lightscape Projects, part of the Light Projects Group has recently supplied fittings for a
stunning lighting scheme for the Mall in London which runs from the ICA building to St James’s
Palace. This comprises over a hundred Lumascape high performance LS343 and LS843 inground
uplighters which are illuminating the long stretch of brick wall along the Mall, as well as the
ground level columns beneath the Institute of Contemporary Art.
Manufactured from 316 Marine Grade Stainless Steel with an IP68 rating and including an integral
wicking barrier, the fittings are fully resistant to the ingress of water, dust and other contaminants.
They provide heavy duty high performance coupled with a vandal-resistant OptiWhite lens system
capable of withstanding point loads up to 4200kg.
The LS343 fittings are using 35W Metal Halide CDMT lamps while the LS843 fittings have the 20W
Metal Halide CDM-TM lamp package from Phillips. For flexibility, the fittings are fully modular with
a removable top plate lens assembly and reflector gimble to enable lamp access and uplugging of
the control gear.
This means that identical bodies can be used with 35w, 70w or 150W Metal Halide cdmt lamps, a
42watt tc-tel compact fluorescent as well as other mains and low voltage zsources.
The LS343 can also include the highly efficient ‘PureOptics’ package which gives even greater
efficiency and beam control to CDMT uplighting. The elliptical reflector combined with the ‘tilt lens’
package produces wall-wash distribution starting at ground level. |
